Mechanics

Every member of this team can identify lego parts by the sound they make in the vacuum cleaner. Our mechanics team creates a seriously sophisticated machine. Lightweight, maneuverable and durable.

Our Mechanics Team is made up of students of engineering ranging from the first bachelor, to the first master semester. Currently, we are designing a completely new robot. Its completion is planned for the next weeks.

The parts will be made in the mobile machine institutes (MOBIMA) workshop at the KIT. Many, many blueprints must be prepared and the workshop needs assistance to produce everything to our specification. The final assembly will be done by ourselves.

The construction is almost entirely custom, but some parts, like the shock absorbers, demand too many workshop hours. Thats why we buy and incorporate them into the vehicle.

Not only will the robot be highly maneuverable on its four steerable wheels, it will also be able to manipulate objects with its mechanical arm. A liquid spraying system will also be on board.

We also designed some mechanical interfaces, to allow for easy attachment of new components.
